After overcoming stiff competition from cities such as Maastricht, Turin and Manheim, Malaga’s Trade Fair and Congress Centre has just been announced as the venue for the 2010 edition of the PEC-Europe (Professional Education Conference Europe). Organised by Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the event will attract members of the world’s largest association of meeting industry professionals.
Big spenders
Moreover, the average yearly budget of MPI members is over 1.6 million euros, meaning that the combined spending power of meetings professionals attending the event will be in region of 600 million euros per year.
First Spanish host city
Malaga is the first Spanish city to be chosen to host the PEC-Europe, in which some 800 delegates – all qualified meetings professionals – from all over Europe and the rest of the world are expected to participate. The event, scheduled for the beginning of 2010, will undoubtedly go a long way to help the city form a part of the international meeting industry circuit.
