For the fourth year running, the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) has passed the Information Security Management System (SGSI) follow-up audit. With this method certified by the Spanish Association of Normalization and Certification (AENOR) and implemented four years ago, the Malaga centre guarantees the protection of both its own information and that of its tradeshow and congress clients.

As over the past four years, the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) has renewed its commitment to information security and protection through the Information Security Management System – certified by the Spanish Association of Normalization and Certification (AENOR) – which was first implemented in 2009 and which has recently passed the follow-up audit.

This highlights the fact that the congress centre’s chief aim is to protect both its own information and that of its tradeshow and congress clients. So as to ensure information security, FYCMA has introduced a management system with a set of basic norms, procedures and practices.

As part of FYCMA commitment to protecting confidentiality, the centre goes to great lengths to avoid unauthorized users accessing its database, safeguard the integrity of information so as to avoid its loss or deterioration, ensure the availability of information in all storage media, and comply with legal and contractual requirements as per data privacy.

Furthermore, this system’s aim is to provide all of the centre’s staff training in information security so that they are fully aware of the risks when handling data and their responsibility to protect the organization’s digital information assets, while respecting a series of basic security measures.

The system was implemented in 2009 and, since then, the certification has been renewed once - every three years. Nonetheless, so as to maintain the certification the centre has to pass a yearly follow-up audit. The renewal of the certificate, adapted to the new ISO 27001 certification, is scheduled for 2015.
