Carnival UK is studying the possibility of using Malaga as a cruise departure port, according to the City Council.
During a recent visit to Malaga, Anthony Hellier, shore excursions executive of the cruise lines belonging to the group, admitted that he was very pleasantly surprised by the improvements carried out in Malaga, above all as regards the city’s historic heritage, a mixture of civilizations, according the press release of Malaga City Council.
Malaga, which is already used as a port of call by Carnival UK, will have hosted a total of 25,000 passengers from 13 cruises by the end of 2009, of which 12,000 have already visited the city. In 2010, the company plans to increase the number of port calls into Malaga to 19, bringing the total number of passengers to 44,400.
