For the second year running, the agency Makyre Events has organized the communication and event seminar "Con dos tacones", which is due to be held in Malaga on 28 November 2008.

Highlighting the importance of communication in any corporate action or process has become a growing necessity. This is the reason why Makyre Events has organized this seminar – addressing different facets of communication, as well as its much-neglected importance and value – geared to communication and marketing directors, entrepreneurs, communication agencies, etc.

A novel feature of this seminar is that all keynote speakers are women holding important posts in the corporate sector, who will be sharing the experience that they have gained from working in the field of communication.

This year’s keynotes will be given by Maria Esther Regueiro Fernandez, ex-director general of protocol of the Galician Regional Government and non-executive director of CRTVG; Gloria Campos, head of institutional relations of the International School of Protocol; Anabel Merino, press and PR officer of the Warner Park, Madrid; and Pepa Babot, press and communications officer of the Picasso Museum in Malaga.

Makyre Communication Awards

The first edition of the Makyre Communication Awards was held last weekend. The ceremony was attended by local politicians, entrepreneurs, press representatives and personalities.

With this initiative, Macarena Requeira, director of Makyre Eventos, has wanted to acknowledge the work of professionals in the field of communication: journalism, advertising and events.

The event, which was compèred by the local journalist Rocio Gaspar, began with a rather peculiar video on the meaning of communication, followed by the award ceremony:

- Makyre Advertising Award: Juan Ramon Plana, director of the Spanish Association of Advertisers.

- Makyre Event Award: Aurora Espiga, director of protocol of Endesa.

- Makyre Journalism Award (posthumous): Alejo Garcia.
