On occasion of the 9th Malaga Dance, the Civic Centre of Malaga will be hosting "The Magical in Movement", an exhibition of the work of photographer Frank Lauder, comprising 15 large-format images, photographs and biographies of some of the most representative figures of the world of dance. From a very personal perspective, Frank Lauder captures artistes such as Jose Martinez, principal dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet and Spanish National Dance Prize winner, Maria Pages, Spanish National Choreographer Prize winner, or the great revelation Mercedes Ruiz.

Photographer Frank Lauder, who holds a BA from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, and teaches photography at the reputed Guilford College, is also the advertising director of Belvedere Publishing in Rome.

Frank Lauder has worked for top fashion houses in Vogue (Italy, France, and Germany), having become at 26 the youngest creative director in London, where he created his own advertising agency.

Passionately fond of the performing arts since he was child, his unique view of the dance world is reflected in his photographs which have a peculiar dynamism.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 21 November at 11am, and will be open to the public until 10 December, from Mondays to Saturdays from 10am-1.30pm and from 5-9pm, at the Civic Centre (Avenida de Los Guindos, 48).

Ninth edition of Malaga Dance

In its 9th edition, there will be premiers of the new works of several emerging choreographers, including Esthe Aumatell (Nantes), Mauro Astolfi (Roma), and Jean Clade Carles (Lyon).

Performances have been programmed at several different venues in Malaga (the Contemporary Art Centre, Conservatory of Dance and Civic Centre), and at Ronda’s Vicente Espinel Theatre.

The programme includes workshops, photographic exhibitions, performances, conferences and video dance.
