On 1 May, the Roof Garden of the Emperador Hotel (Gran Via, 53), opened to the general public. Every year, this unique roof garden, complete with a swimming pool, becomes the best option in Madrid to combat the sweltering summer heat.



Located on the property's 10th floor, it is an ideal place for getting a first taste of the summer holidays, enjoying them or prolonging them. Every summer, the Roof Garden converts the Emperador Hotel into one of Madrid's top social meeting places, thus recuperating the genuine essence of the hotel, housed in a building dating back to the mid-20th century. The Roof Garden has the casual elegance characterizing the hotel, a genuine style that has captivated fashion photographers and film directors, who have used the property as a photo shoot or film location.



Due to its unbeatable location, the Roof Garden boasts some of the best views in Madrid. The impressive sunsets and the views of the Royal Palace and the capital's main streets it affords are the chief reasons why the hotel's most loyal clients always return.

The Roof Garden covers an area of 500sqm, including a solarium, a sun lounger area, a chill out area, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, Wi-Fi and a 10x15m swimming pool (with a maximum depth of 3m). The Roof Garden will be open until approximately 30 September, from 10am-8pm during May, and from 10am-9pm from June to September.



The Emperador Hotel has designed several Roof Garden Packages, This season, a day pass costs €33 (from Monday-Friday) or €44 (Saturdays, Sundays and/or Bank Holidays), in addition to a five-day pass costing €132 (from Monday-Friday) and €176 (Saturdays, Sundays and/or Bank Holidays).



In addition, there is also a half-day pass, valid from 2.30pm, Monday-Thursday, for €40, including a fixed lunch menu, and a voucher only for the lunch menu (also valid from Monday-Thursday) for €20.



As regards the afterwork programme, there is a pass for €20 (valid from Monday-Thursday) for using the swimming pool from 6pm onwards, including a free mojito.



About the Emperador Hotel

Built in 1946 and fully renovated in 2003, this 4-star property is located in Gran Via, one of Madrid's main streets. It forms a part of the Lope de Vega building, designed by architects Julian and Joaquin Otamendi, the latter also being responsible for the Post Office Building and the Plaza Cibeles, among others.



Thanks to its location, clientele and architectural style, the Emperador Hotel is regarded as one of the capital's flagship buildings. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons why it was chosen for hosting the closing ceremony of the celebrations held to mark the centenary of Gran Via.
