Madrid Convention Bureau promotes city as major event destination in Germany

Madrid Convention Bureau (MCB) was present at the last edition of IMEX in Frankfurt, one of the world’s leading meeting and event industry shows, held last week in Frankfurt. The convention bureau made the most of this opportunity to showcase the city as an international business tourism destination before professionals from all over the world. The aim was to reinforce and maintain an image of leadership and professionalism in Europe and, above all, in Germany, one of the city’s most important international feeder markets, according to official statistics.

Madrid City Council has included this show in its international business tourism marketing strategy since 2010. With an exhibiting area of over 17,000sqm, last year this annual show attracted over 12,500 trade professionals and generated more than 65,000 prescheduled meetings.

The Madrid delegation included the convention centres IFEMA Madrid Exhibition & Congress Centre and Madrid Municipal Congress Centre; the hotels Westin Palace Madrid, Novotel Madrid Center, Rafael Hoteles Atocha and NH Collection Eurobuilding; the DMCs Cititravel DMC Spain & Portugal, Kuoni, AIM Group and Spain in Style DMC; in addition to the service providers Elenco Audiovisión and Grand Class alquiler de automóviles.
