Last month, a Japanese TV channel was in Cordova to make a programme about the festivals held in May, including the Feast of the Crosses, the grills and balconies competition, the patio competition and the city’s annual fair.
The Japanese adore the colourful spectacle of the flowers and fields of sunflowers typical of the Cordovan countryside, as well as traditions and culture of Andalusia. This devotion for Andalusia is probably the reason why a Japanese TV channel was in Cordova last month to make a programme about the festivals held in May, including the Feast of the Crosses, the grills and balconies competition, the patio competition and the city’s annual fair.
Due to the uniqueness of Las Casas de la Juderia, a building housing a 5-star boutique hotel comprising seven Cordovan patios full of colourful flower pots and flowers, the film crew fell in love with the property, with its typical Andalusian architecture, fountains and parterres. Indeed, Las Casas de la Juderia is the only hotel that appears in full version of the documentary about the city, for its uniqueness and the painstaking restoration work carried out on a heritage building, declared "City Monument," which was the birthplace of Luis de Gongora.
