For the third year running, Kuoni Destination Management has been voted the "World’s Top DMC" at the World Travel Awards.
Hailed as the "Oscars of the travel industry, the World Travel Awards (WTA) have capped their year-long search for the most popular travel and tourism brands in the world with a glittering Grand Final Gala Ceremony in New Delhi, India, on 12 December 2012.
Lars Ingelius, vice-chairman of Kuoni Destination Management’s European division, stated: "Taking into account today’s increasingly more competitive business environment, we are proud to have received this award for the third year running. It shows all our staff that their daily dedication and professionalism when providing quality, client-centric DMC services have deserved a reward. Without their passion and commitment, this acknowledgement over the past three years would not have been possible."
Kuoni Destination Management’s highly specialized capacity, which allows the company to maintain its leadership, is currently focused on providing suitable solutions for the MICE industry. Ingelius then went on to stress: "So as to lend our strategic business unit greater support, we will be focusing even more on the specific needs of our key accounts in the MICE industry and other related business sectors".
Kuoni Destination Management has undertaken a firm commitment to reinforce its network of sales managers, as they are the ones who really know the different MICE requirements of the home markets, as well as the national social, economic and political environments and their influence on the business world and decision-making.
These local destination specialists use their deep knowledge to design bespoke event proposals and concepts, including global logistics and accommodation management, for large conventions and congresses.
Graham Cooke, chairman and founder of the World Travel Awards, stated: "The past year has continued to challenge every area of travel, tourism and hospitality. However our Grand Final winners have all demonstrated their world-class pedigree over this period, and are currently spearheading the global recovery of travel and tourism. In doing so they are also reinforcing our industry’s role as one of the mainstays of the global economy."
Kuoni Destination Management has a number of world-class projects in the pipeline, including the company’s successful bid to become the official accommodation agency of the UEFA EURO 2016. Lastly, it is important to mention that the parent company of Kuoni Destination Management also picked up an award in the "World’s Leading Tour Operator" category.
