The Jerez Convention Bureau, in collaboration with Jerez City Council and Air Berlin, has recently organized a fam trip for journalists from Düsseldorf, a city which offers direct flights to the Southern Andalusian city.

This fam trip was organized for six German journalists working for media publications distributed in North Rhine-Westphalia (where Düsseldorf’s airport is located) – the German federal state with the largest urban area in the country, with 18 million inhabitants in a radius of 100km.

The four-day programme included the city’s main attractions and its area of influence, such as Chiclana de la Frontera.

On 9 July, the group travelled to Jerez on the direct flight operated by Air Berlin. The fam trip programme included a visit to the fighting bull farm of Los Alburejos, belonging to Alvaro Domecq and the thoroughbred horses of the Cartuja Stud, authentic flamenco at the Taberna Flamenca, and a tour of the Gonzalez Byass Winery to how sherry is produced.

The group also savoured local cuisine at the Trafalgar Restaurant of the Diplomatico Winery, Bar Juanito, El Bosque Restaurant, Bodegón Rociero La Blanca Paloma, and La Estancia Golf of Novo Sancti Petri.

On the sightseeing tour organized by Andalusi Club OPC, the group was surprised at the amount of attractions that Jerez has to offer visitors. The journalists also visited other unique venues managed by JCB, including the Museos de la Atalaya, Hammam Andalusí, Fundación de la Real Escuela, and the Alcazar of Jerez.

As regards hotels, the journalists were offered a tour of the Guadalete Hotel in Jerez and the Iberostar chain’s property in Novo Sancti Petri.

This fam trip organized by the Jerez Convention Bureau is the first in series of marketing actions geared to international markets with direct flights to the city.
