The 16 members of the Board of Directors of OPC Spain (Professional Congress Organizers) will be holding their monthly meeting in Jerez on 11 May, sponsored by Jerez Convention Bureau.

OPC Spain, whose members include over 300 congress and meeting planners from all over Spain, will get to know Jerez and the city’s famous horse show as guests of Jerez Convention Bureau. The possibility that one of the most important congress centres in Andalusia will be built in the city, in addition to its existing tourist facilities and services, has brought Jerez to the attention of meetings and event industry professionals as a potential destination for organizing congresses and meetings.

The group will be staying at the Barcelo Montecastillo Hotel, while the board meetings will be held at the Atalaya-Palacio del Tiempo Museums, one of the city’s unique event venues. The Bullfighting Museum-Alfonso Catering will host a networking session with members of the Jerez Convention Bureau, together with representatives from the public company Turismo Andaluz and the Provincial Tourist Board. The programme will also include tours of the Sandeman Wineries and the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, while Selma Autocares and Autoregan will be handling all transfers.

The programme will end with a visit to the fair and the “casetas” of bureau members Sandeman Wineries, Gonzalez Byass, Bar Juanito, and Catering Randado. The visit will be short but intense, with the aim of encouraging participants to return at later date with more time on their hands.

With this promotional action, Jerez Convention Bureau aims to consolidate the position of Jerez as an event destination, as well as reinforcing its candidacy to host the National Meeting of OPC Spain – which is attended each year over 250 companies and agencies dedicated organizing events – some time in the near future.
