Some of the best musicians, dancers and singers of the moment will be performing at 14th Flamenco Festival of Jerez, scheduled to be held from 26 February-13 March 2010. Besides performances, the 14th edition of the festival will be markedly pedagogical.
Hailed by the critics and the public, the festival has consolidated its position as the most important international flamenco and Spanish dance festival, with the attendance of students from nearly 40 countries.
The official programme, which will take place at the Villamarta Theatre, will open with the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet of Cristina Hoyos, followed by nearly 50 performances and over a hundred activities throughout the city. Organized by the Villamarta Theatre Foundation, over 34,000 people participated in the last edition of the festival.
In addition, there will be a flamenco kindergarten, designed to offer children their first contact with the art by means of games, and their parents the opportunity to attend courses and performances, or take part in any other activity.
