The communication and event agency Eventisimo has signed an agreement with Rey Juan Carlos University geared to creating an international benchmark centre for training specialists in event organization and corporative communication: the International School of Event Management & Communication (ISEMCO).
To that end, both institutions will create a pioneering higher education system in Spain, based on the German dual system, in which students combine lectures with practical work placements. Thanks to the agreement signed by Rey Juan Carlos University and the international event organization and communication agency Eventisimo, students will have the chance to combine theoretical lectures with practical work experience in a real professional environment. Work immersion, practical sessions using case study and experiential learning methodologies, permanent contact with international professionals and participation in the organization of real events, all make this training programme a pioneering experience in Spain, as it will provide students with the wherewithal to achieve an optimum level of professional competence.
The fact that Eventisimo has a number of European offices will favour the mobility of students as regards practical work placements and their immersion in event design and organization, since most of the agency’s commissions are for events held outside Spain.
For its part, ISEMCO will put the accent on the use of the most innovative education and communication technologies. Accordingly, students will have direct access to the technical equipment and technology habitually used in event organization and will be able work together with professionals in the design and organization of real events.
This model, successfully implemented in several European countries, is in line with Eventisimo’s philosophy: "Full event organization, providing 360º solutions thanks to its in-house production team." The idea is not only to train students, but also to provide them with the necessary resources so that they can implement their own projects. Not only event organization will be covered, but also the broad field of communication and marketing, to which end students will be given practical experience in all of Eventisimo’s departments. At the end of the programme, students will be invited to work at the agency, depending on their level of competence.
With this synthesis, the idea is to create an international benchmark centre that responds to the concept of "global communication and event centre", where students can combine theory and practice and where real events are organized at the centre’s facilities.
ISEMCO offers a number of different programmes, including a BA in Event Organization, Corporative Communication and Public and Institutional Relations. In addition, there are also a number of post-graduate programmes keyed to professionals looking for continuing education, including an MA in Event Organization and Production Management, Communication and Institutional Relations and an MBA in Event Organization and Corporative Communication.
