The 10th edition of the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), the world’s leading golf tourism event, will be held in Cancun, Mexico, from the 3-6 December.
IGTM is the one and only trade show dedicated exclusively to golf tourism, a profitable sector in constant growth. Mexico is without doubt an ideal destination for celebrating this important show’s 10th edition.
New features
Moving away from the traditional trade show format, IGTM will offer buyers the opportunity to schedule up to 36 personalised appointments with the exhibitors of their choice. Moreover, three hours have been reserved each day for networking.
Golf Destination of the Year
In November of last year, Mexico was named “Latin American and Caribbean Golf Destination of the Year” by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). This award is yet further proof of the wisdom in choosing this country to host the event.
The Mexican Golf Industry
In 2005, golf tourism in Mexico attracted 600,000 visitors, generating approximately 400 million dollars in revenues. With over 155 top-class courses, including courses designed by personalities such as Jack Nicklaus and the architect Tom Weiskopf, Mexico’s commitment to the growth and expansion of golf tourism has been recognised by the golf magazine ABTA, which described the destination as “the number one, with the approval of professional golfers for whom Los Cabos is a firm favourite”.
el compromiso de México con el desarrollo y expansión del mercado del golf ha sido reconocido por la Revista de Golf “ABTA”, que describió este destino como “el número 1, con la aprobación de golfistas profesionales para quienes Los Cabos es el destino predilecto”. Furthermore, the country hosted its first PGA Tour event, the Mayakoba Golf Classic held at Riviera Maya (Cancun) last February.
