With over 12 million tourists a year and 400,000 bed spaces at 1,800 properties, the Canary Isles are a market offering companies and professionals enormous opportunities.
Tourism innovation, hotel renovation and maintenance, tourism company sourcing, technology applied to tourism management, specialized training, thematic tourism and supplementary offerings, and real estate promotions and investment are just some of the issues that will be addressed at the International Atlantic Trade Fair, which is scheduled to be held at the Canaries Trade Show Institute (INFECAR) of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 24-27 November.
Business appointments
This show intends to be a meeting place for the international tourism industry – with special emphasis on Latin America and Africa – and, of course, that of Spain and particularly that of the Canaries. Its chief aim is to generate opportunities for business, investment, promotion, and collaboration between suppliers and clients, as well as between institutions and the industry’s professional associations. During the show, there will be business meetings, presentations, and debates on the present and future of the tourism industry.
A geostrategic show
INFECAR, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, has been committed over the years to serving as a hub for promoting business between Europe, Africa, and Latin America, based on its geostrategic position and the traditional ties between the Canaries and the Latin American and African communities. The strategy of the up-and-coming 40th edition of the show, organized by INFECAR and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria in collaboration with other business and tourism entities, has shifted (it was initially a multi-sector event) to focus on the tourism industry. With under a month to go, the organizers are optimistic about attendance figures as regards both exhibitors and visitors.
