The official ceremony took place at the Costa del Sol stand at FITUR (Madrid) on 23 January.

Paloma Garcia Galvez, mayoress of Benalmadena, accompanied by J. Adolfo Fernández Romero, head of the town’s tourism department, presided the ceremony in which Indigo DMC Group – a Benalmadena-based travel agency and DMC with over 25 years of experience in organizing theme, history and science trips – received the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, for implementing quality and environmental management systems, respectively.

Raimund P. Kurz, CEO of Indigo, was present at the ceremony to personally receive the certificates, distinguishing it as a certified company in accordance with the standards UNE-EN 9001:2008 and UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004, specifying the requirements for quality and environmental system management, from the tourism experts of the external auditing company TÜV Rheinland.

Indigo DMC Group specializes in planning and organizing high-quality events, congresses, incentives, as well as agricultural, permacultural and gastronomic programmes adapted to different client segments. Furthermore, the DMC also organizes trips to India, Morocco and Latin America.

In fact, Indigo DMC Group is the only company in the world that organizes cultural, history and science trips in Spain, such as the "Irvin Washington Route" and "Golden Tartessos and the Commercial Power of the Phoenicians" (both in Andalusia), "From Maimonides to the Holy Grail of Eschenbach" (Andalusia and Castile), and the Barcelona of Carlos Ruiz Zafon in The Shadow of the Wind, for which reason the DMC has a large number of overseas clients, including universities, agricultural organizations, and religious, academic and governmental institutions.

In addition, as proof of its untiring commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) the company has its own foundation keyed to helping the poorer segments of society.
