That the Passeig de Gracia is an open-air museum of modern architecture, a grand showcase containing building declared World Heritage Sites, is not a secret. However, this is only one of the many facets of this elegant boulevard.

Over the last few years, the commercial premises located in this street have changed owners: bank branches have given way to the world’s most exclusive fashion brands and hotel chains.

According to the experts, the singular architectural style of its buildings, besides its many boutiques (such as Chanel, Dolce&Gabbana, Valentino, Bvlgary, Hermés and the Barcelona-based Furest and Santa Eulàlia), have positioned it in the world’s top 10 to such an extent that other firms have to wait years to open branches in the Passeig de Gracia. The street ceased to be a mere connection between the old town and the locality of Gracia many years ago.
