On 31 October, Iceland received a seal of approval when US event organizer Harith Productions, along with the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica and the Icelandic DMC Practical Travel, recieved SITE's prestigious Crystal Award for an exceptionally motivating programme for a group of 200 guests.
The event, named The Land of Contrasts, highlighted Iceland’s nature at its best. Guests enjoyed different activities such as snorkelling, caving, horseback riding and a guided tour visiting museums and galleries, together with dining in and around Reykjavik. The event ended at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica with an evening filled with entertainment by Icelandic performers and a menu reflecting the theme.
“This award strengthens Iceland’s reputation as the perfect destination for great events, conferences and incentives,” said Anna R. Valdimarsdottir, convention manager at the Iceland Convention and Incentive Bureau.
“It demonstrates yet again how Iceland can offer an imaginative incentive, with our history, culture, cuisine and the expertise of the people working in the meeting industry in Iceland today coming together to create something truly different. And our geographical location, right between Europe and North America, makes Iceland an ideal meeting point.”
SITE is the biggest global network of meetings and event professionals, with over 2,000 members from 87 countries. This recognition serves as a benchmark for international events and is regarded as the highest honour in the travel industry.
