With the aim of engaging participants at an internal convention, HSBC used an event app developed by PowerVote for the first time.

The chief aim of this app, developed exclusively for this event, was to engage each and every one of the attendees. In this type of event, the attendees are usually passive spectators who receive information from the speakers, so on this occasion the idea was to promote two-way communication between the former and the latter.

"The previous editions of the event weren’t so dynamic! We wouldn’t have been capable of generating such a large quantity of comments and ideas without the app. Generally speaking, the investment has allowed us to increase ROI, taking into account that the event was attended by managers from a large number of countries", declared Yan Bechet, International Business Banking Manager, HSBC.

"We didn’t expect such a large number of replies and realized that this individual digital engagement format had obliged everyone in some way to make more of an effort when conceiving and transmitting their ideas."

Some of the app’s funcionalities

"We asked the speakers to use at least one of the interactive elements of PowerVote’s app, such as its voting, live Q&A or audience polling functionality, etc. It turned out to be an excellent way to measure presentation quality."

"Thanks to the app’s instant messaging solution, the attendees could chat between themselves. This option lends the app a more fun and informal dimension."

"The app was unveiled way before the event, creating a great amount of buzz and encouraging the attendees to engage in situ. It provides a wonderful opportunity for generating ideas and suggestions. Afterwards, we received a comprehensive final report, complete with an event engagement analysis, all of which allowed us to extract a maximum benefit for business".

"By means of its functionalities, this app has given us the opportunity to create a cloud of words that embraced in a very visual manner the company’s values, expressed individually in a free and anonymous way."

"Both the speakers and the attendees thoroughly enjoyed the conference’s innovative touch. The introduction of novel elements has been an excellent idea. This digital solution encouraged everyone to engage, opened up new perspectives, and created the right setting for a final brainstorming session."

The experience in numbers

In this conference, comprising three events, the participants generated 4,500 comments and questions, took 2,300 notes, and visited near on 150,000 pages dedicated to PowerVote’s app. Two consultants and one technician were on hand at the event to ensure its success.
