Last Wednesday, 3 November, the Atalaya Museums in Jerez (Cadiz) hosted the awards ceremony of the Gold Medals for Merit in Fine Arts 2009.
The Princes of Asturias presided the ceremony for the second time in its history, awarding the medal and diploma to the 25 winners in this year's edition, including Editorial Anaya, RNE's Radio 3, Tricicle, the Duchess of Alba, Julio Iglesias, Luis Francisco Espla, Joaquin Cortes, Kiko Veneno, Juan Gatti, Rosa Mª Sarda, Ana Laguna, Angel Pavlovski, Roser Capdevila, etc.
Over 450 guests attended the event and, after a brilliant performance by Tricicle, who expressed their gratitude on behalf of the award winners and thanked for their contribution to the Fine Arts in Spain, were served an aperitif in the wine cellar patio and the Don Jorge function room, prepared by Alfonso Catering, and then transferred to the Gonzalez Byass Winery – which this year is celebrating its 125th anniversary – for lunch and a short tour of its magnificent facilities.
