At the beginning of the month, 20 international agents specializing in international congresses and incentives from Germany, the U.K., Belgium, France, Scandinavia and China participated in a fam trip to Catalonia, with the aim of looking for new destinations and venues for their clients' events.
In Gerona, the agents were taken on a guided tour of the Old Town, followed by lunch at the Carlemany Hotel, which included a presentation given by the Gerona Convention Bureau (GCB) and the Tourism Board on the area's specific aspects and the possibilities for organizing events in the province of Gerona. Afterwards, the group visited the Gerona Auditorium and Congress Centre to get to know firsthand its facilities and services for meetings and events.
After the visit to the auditorium, the group of agents was taken to Lloret de Mar, where the programme included visits to hotels, restaurants and the Costa Brava Grand Casino. They then stayed overnight at Lloret, before returning to Barcelona the following morning.
Lastly, the agents participated in the Workshop Buy Cataluña MICE & Events, organized by the Catalonia Convention Bureau, which was held at the Barcelona Congress Centre on 8 June, with the attendance of over 80 agencies specializing in international meetings and incentives, with the aim of networking with representatives of Catalonia's convention bureaux and companies specializing in business tourism.
