Malaga’s tradeshow and congress centre will host six of its own events and at least eight external ones in the last three months of the year.
The Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre’s full agenda for the 4Q includes trade-only shows and those open to the general public. It is estimated that, in the last three months of the year, the centre will host in the region of 140,000 visitors, near on 7,000 of which will be congress delegates.
Over the years, Malaga has managed to reaffirm its position as a world-class meeting and event destination, consolidating and expanding its agenda, all of which has had a positive impact on the city’s brand. In addition to the efforts made to weather the economic storm, it is important to stress that, over the last 10 years, FYMCA has created, directly and indirectly, over 4,000 jobs, the majority for locals, thus contributing to the reactivation of the economy and the labour market.
In the last quarter of the year, marketing efforts will be stepped up with the aim of promoting the centre in the global meeting and event marketplace, a task carried out jointly with the Malaga Convention Bureau, which will allow the city to consolidate its position among the world’s top event and association meeting destinations. With this in mind, FYCMA will again be returning to EIBTM Barcelona – one of the global meeting and event industry’s leading shows – as well as running campaigns in Germany, Madrid and Barcelona.
One of the new features on the centre’s congress agenda is Tikal, the 1st Latin American Technology, Innovation and Knowledge Forum – organized by EOI and Malaga City Council – which will be held parallel to the 4th edition Greencities & Sustainability, a forum on intelligence applied to urban sustainability. Both events will take place at the same venue from 2-3 October.
Other events on the agenda include the 2nd edition of "Ser Emprendedor", a self-employment forum, which will take place from 27-28 November.
As regards professional congresses, the centre will host a number of events, totalling around 7,000 delegates, featuring two national medical congresses, scheduled to be held from 28-30 October and 20-23 November, respectively.
With regard to shows open to the general public, FYCMA will again be hosting the 7th edition of " Celebra Málaga," a wedding and celebration show, from 11-13 October, and the 2nd edition of "Mi Mascota," from 18-20 of October, among others.
