FYCMA October Attendance Figures Hit 25,000 Mark

The Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre has consolidated its position as an international meetings and event venue with the hosting of MIT's first European conference.



In October, the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYMCA) received more than 25,000 visitors, including 8,000 delegates attending congresses, conventions, seminars and other events, and 17,000 trade professionals and visitors attending the two tradeshows organized by the centre. In short, in one month FYMCA has attracted thousands of national and international visitors to the city.



One of the most important events was EmTech Spain, the prestigious international technology conference organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which chose Malaga as the destination for its first European meeting, attended by the world's leaders in emerging technologies. Held from 26-27 October, 600 delegates attended the event which put the city on the map and showcased it as a world-class meetings and event destination.



In October, FYCMA also hosted important political events, such as the National Convention of the People's Party, and medical events, such as the congress of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM), with 1,100 delegates. In addition, the International Tourism Forum – one of the important national tourism events, attracted over 1,000 professionals from all over the world.



As regards tradeshows, the centre hosted two in October: SIMed, the Mediterranean Real Estate Exhibition; and the Energy Efficient Buildings and Urban Spaces Show, "Greencities". These events, both of which were organized by the centre, were attended by 10,000 and 7,000 people, respectively.



The figures for October endorse the strategy implemented by the centre based on submitting bids for quality national and international events, as well as on the innovation, efficiency and sustainability of the congresses and tradeshows it hosts.
