Renewal of the management committee of the Spanish Tradeshow Organizers Association (AOF), with the appointment of Francisco Carrio to the post of president.

With a 15 year track record in top tradeshow organizations, the new president of AOF is managing director and CEO of Reed Exhibitions Iberia and Alimentaria Exhibitions, a joint venture between the world leader Reed Exhibitions and Barcelona's Fira and the company responsible for organizing, among other shows, Alimentaria, the second most important food and beverage tradeshow in the world.

Furthermore, Rocio Aguirre, CEO of Madrid Golf, the company organizing the only annual international golf show in Spain, will be in charge of the association's general secretariat.

Established in 2006, AOF currently comprises 12 of Spain's leading tradeshow organizers. In a segment dominated by the public sector, the association's chief aim is to "reinforce the business projection" of private sector organizers, independent companies "that take risks and invest so that economic sectors have a key reference event," explained Carrio.

Likewise, the AOF's new president also pretends to promote the professional profile of the association's members and defend the rights and interests of private companies dedicated to organizing tradeshows, representing them before the different public administrations.

Parallel to the proliferation of tradeshow centres and complexes over the last few years, in Carrio's opinion it is essential to "professionalize as much as possible the management of all the aspects involved in tradeshow organization, with the aim of guaranteeing ROI for clients."
