Four new tradeshows and an estimated 70,000 participants in FYCMA 2017 agenda

In 2016, the centre’s activity had an economic impact on the city and its metropolitan area in the region of €112 million.

In 2017, the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) will host four new tradeshows, thus broadening the centre’s agenda, with at least 22 in all scheduled throughout the year.

As regards tradeshows, it is worth mentioning the incorporation of FreakCon, 1st Manga, Cómic, TV Series and Video Game International Convention (11-12 March); Hi!Drone Technology, 1st Drone Technology Show (7-8 June); Art Fair Málaga ‘17, 1st International Contemporary Art Show (30 June-2 July); and Marketing Catalyzers (25-26 September).

In addition to the recently held congress of the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the centre will also host the events of major European and national medical and scientific societies relating to periodontology and osseointegration (with near on 4000 delegates), surgery, preventive cardiology, haematology and haemotherapy, clinical laboratory, infectious diseases, Alzheimer research, and clinical microbiology, among others.

In 2016, the number of medical congresses hosted increased by 30%, a trend that will continue in 2017 and that has to do with the centre’s qualitative strategy, prioritizing these types of events on its agenda because they usually involve longer stays with more hotel nights, a larger number of delegates, and a higher daily spend.
