Forum Evolucion Burgos releases 2015 annual activity report and provisions for 2016

In 2015, Forum Evolution consolidated its position as a benchmark national congress venue. This means that the centre is now acknowledged in the MICE industry as such and has a voice in forums where decisions are made. This was reinforced by the silver award for the best national venue it received last year from the Eventplus Communication Group.



Business activity in 2015

In 2015, the centre hosted a total of 143 events attended by 101,203 people. Cultural activities represented 29% of the total and congresses and meetings 71%. As to meetings, 30% were corporate and 11% scientific.



Regarding congresses, the most outstanding result in 2015 was the record number of national congresses held in Burgos registered last spring. Just in March, the centre hosted eight major national congresses, attended by 3,500 delegated and generating in the region of 7,000 hotel nights. Until now, Burgos has never hosted such a large number of delegates in such a short period.



The economic impact of the centre’s activity in 2015 has been estimated at €4,843,763.



Summary of global activity

Taking as a baseline the period from June 2012-December 2015, the centre has hosted a total of 505 events, with 441,034 attendees and an accumulated economic impact of €19,540,415.



Activities planned for 2016 and the following years

With regard to the activities planned for 2016 and the following years, the forecasts give the centre’s management every reason for optimism. To date, 99 events have been confirmed for 2016, 13 for 2017 and one for 2018.



It is important to stress that featuring among these are five congresses with over 1,000 delegates, all of which will allow Forum Evolution and Burgos to consolidate the city’s position as a major congress destination, the product of the intense marketing campaign that the centre has being carrying out since being opened.
