Here are the top five reasons why meetings planners, event managers, directors, event marketers, agencies or independents should put IMEX on their ‘must see’ list this May.
1. 2017 – A Year of Change, and more exhibitors than ever
As a truly global showcase for the meetings and events industry IMEX is the best place to gain a snapshot of the whole market. With the largest global array of exhibitors from every meetings industry sector, buyers can meet 3,500 worldwide organisations, hundreds of meeting professionals and discover the latest trends under one roof.
2. An opportunity to discover the power and importance of ‘Purposeful Meetings’
This year IMEX has introduced a headline education theme – “Purposeful Meetings – Planning with deeper meaning, innovation and insight in mind”. Through a combination of industry research, keynote presentations and expert speakers, visitors will have a chance to explore event planning through the lens of five key elements: meeting design, behavioural science, health and wellbeing, CSR and legacy, and technology.
3. A chance to learn, explore or certify – NEW – EduMonday
A new pre-show education programme, “EduMonday”, takes place on Monday 15 May, the day before the show. Free of charge and open to all, the day will incorporate five core streams covering event design, future trends and supplier education.
A new partnership with EventCanvas.org Foundation allows selected event professionals to take their career to the next level by taking the Event Design Certification free of charge on the day (a saving of at least £600).
4. Tailored events for association executives
IMEX Association Day offers free, tailored education exclusively for association professionals. This year’s redesigned programme features a new Association Management Stream, covering topics including why members leave and how to persuade them to stay, alongside two Meetings & Events Streams (A and B). Association professionals can register here.
5. In-house event planners have their own event too
Exclusively Corporate at IMEX, for in-house meeting planners and event marketers, has also been redesigned with a new programme of networking and peer-to peer-learning. Split into two streams, the programme has sessions on strategic global programme management for senior professionals and operational issues for event managers. Event and meeting planners can register at: here.
