Pre-scheduled appointments, a vetting process, and innovative networking opportunities were just some of the many reasons delegates reported high marks for the debut Luxury Travel Exchange International (LTX).

The event, held from 27-29 November 2012, at the Palazzo Las Vegas, delivered luxury-focused educational programming and commissionable opportunities to round out the new format which proved to be an invaluable experience for the luxury travel advisor.

"We created Luxury Travel Exchange International in response to the changing needs of the luxury travel industry," commented group show and event director, Jennifer Fernandez. "By addressing the current space, we delivered a quantifiable experience that produced real business exchanges and networking opportunities for the entire delegation. We are pleased with the praise we have already received and look forward to building upon the success in 2013."

Nearly 7,000 appointments were conducted over two days between hand-selected travel advisors and luxury and premium suppliers. Advisors were pleased with the vetting process as it allowed them to conduct business in the company of peers looking to strengthen their luxury business. Denise Canon, president and chief executive officer of Travel Concepts shared: "This event surpasses the original Luxury Travel Expo. LTX is organized, professional, and allows like-minded travel professionals to connect and engage. The suppliers are amazing – a great assortment of destinations and fabulous experiences! The staff, without a doubt, is magical."

Suppliers complimented the sold out appointment programme as meetings presented the opportunity to have meaningful discussions with delegates who have high interest in learning more about their company’s offerings. Jeff Paap, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company shared: "I like the new appointment format as it gave us more one-on-one time. We had the opportunity to see our industry contacts and maintain relationships." Hotel Mela’s Albert V. Libardi agreed: "The show has been fabulous and even better than I anticipated. I gave up going to a show in Europe to come to LTX, and I’m happy with my decision. Customer service is great, and the LTX staff was amazing."

The second annual LTX will be held in September 2013; the location and venue to be announced shortly.
