The organizing committee of the 19th Ibero-Latin American Dermatology Congress (CILAD 2012) recently inspected FIBES’s facilities.
The Ibero-Latin American College of Dermatology has chosen the Andalusian capital and FIBES, the city’s exhibition and congress centre, for the 19th Ibero-Latin American Dermatology Congress (CILAD 2012), scheduled to be held from 19-22 September.
On the 24 February, the congress’ organizing committee toured FIBES’ existing facilities, together with its new extension, with the aim of getting to know firsthand the venue that will host CILAD 2012. After the tour, the organizers stated how impressed they were by FIBES’ new congress centre and its versatility.
FIBES wins several congress bids
The 19th Ibero-Latin American Dermatology Congress will be one the first congresses to be held in FIBES’ new facilities, and in the region of 4,000 Spanish and Portuguese speaking dermatologists from 22 countries are expected to attend the event. The sheer number of delegates will have a very positive impact on the city’s different sectors, such as shops, hotels, public transport, taxis, etc.
CRS and social issues
Furthermore, FIBES continues its active involvement in CSR and social issues, hosting important and relevant events. A good example of this commitment is the International Cooperative Forum, held on 23 February and organized by CEPES Andalucía on the occasion of the International Year of Cooperatives.
Approximately 1,000 people attended the event, including a large number of representatives from the business cooperative, political, economic and social spheres. Along these lines, it is important to mention the participation of renowned keynote speakers who addressed the current economic and social situation, future perspectives and the role that Social Economy and, above all, cooperatives can play in building a world free of economic and social injustices.
The forum highlighted the value of the cooperative model as an alternative for helping the economy to recuperate and as a foundation on which to build a new productive model, based on sustainability and social justice.
