In the first six months of 2010, the Exhibition and Congress Centre of Seville (FIBES) has again hosted a number of important congresses, this time in the field of science.

From 23-27 May 2010, FIBES provided the perfect venue for the 20th Annual Meeting of SETAC Europe, European Unit of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, which was attended by 2,500 delegates.

The Annual Meeting of SETAC Europe, which is the biggest event in its field, included more than 1,500 presentations in meetings and poster sessions, with the participation of scientists, doctors, researchers and regulators, as well as entrepreneurs and politicians.

In addition, the event also included an exhibition area, where representatives of Europe and Spain’s leading environmental consultants, test and research laboratories, etc., showcased their products and services.

The meeting, which this year centred on science and technology geared to environmental protection, surpassed the organizers’ expectations, since approximately 1,500-1,800 delegates were expected to attend – in line with last years figures – and finally 2,500 registered for the event.

Once more, FIBES has demonstrated that it is one of the most popular venues with corporate and association congress organizers, consolidating its position as a key venue in the international business tourism market.
