Felipe Luis Maestro, CEO of the centre, received the Institutional Management Award on behalf of the Seville Exhibition and Congress Centre (FIBES).
Manuel Contreras Caro, president of Azvi, received the Andalusian Executive of the Year Award in a ceremony held in Seville on 28 September, with which the magazine ejecutivos acknowledges his leadership of one of the most representative Andalusian organizations. Furthermore, Joaquin Galan’s enormous experience was recompensed by the Professional Track Record Award.
The ceremony was presided by Maria Victoria de Rojas, CEO of the Vivipress Group and editor of the magazine ejecutivos, who broached the subject of the current crisis. "The solution to this crisis calls for an extraordinary effort by all those concerned: politicians, entrepreneurs, workers and trade unions," she said. "We must construct a new society, starting with its foundations." Javier Landa, presiding officer of the plenary, delegate of Institutional Relations and vice-mayor of Seville City Council, paid tribute to the entrepreneurs, stating that "they are the country’s real economy."
Manuel Contreras Caro thanked the magazine ejecutivos for the Andalusian Executive of the Year Award, congratulated the rest of the award winners, and remarked that everyone should make a supreme effort to overcome the crisis and current unemployment. He also warned those present about how important it is to transmit to society the problems faced by entrepreneurs when creating jobs, defending the fact that "what this country needs are more entrepreneurs. Self-employment and the creation of businesses should be promoted and, above all, society should acknowledge the merit of those that risk their present and future livelihood to start up a project that should be a success."
The financial magazine also acknowledged the excellent work of the region’s Public Administration with the following awards: the Institutional Management Award went to the Seville Exhibition and Congress Centre (FIBES), represented at the ceremony by Felipe Luis Maestro, the centre’s CEO; the Costa del Sol Tourism Board picked up the Tourism Excellence Award), and the Huelva Ham Protected Denomination of Origin received the Expansion Award.
