The award ceremony took place at Las Ventas Bullring on 3 July.
On 3 July, the Event Centre of Feria Valencia was awarded Eventoplus’ Bronze Medal in the "Best Sports Event" category. The jury – all prestigious national meetings and event industry professionals – awarded the medal to the Valencia institution and the firm Encom Games in acknowledgement of the work put into the organization of Dreamhack Valencia 2012, the world’s most important eSports and digital culture show.
During the three-day event – held in September 2012 – Dreamhack hosted the world’s top eSports professionals at Feria Valencia.
Furthermore, over 8,000 visitors and 1,200 video-game amateurs and professionals participated in the event which featured a wide range of activities: LAN Party, tournaments, EIZO Open and the gaming store, among other offerings.
In 2012, the event’s organizers chose Feria Valencia’s facilities to host its first edition outside Sweden – where it was first held in 1995 – and this year they have again decided on Feria Valencia as the venue of the next edition of the event, scheduled to be held from 18-21 July.
