The world record was broken during the Oriflame Global Summit 2013, held in Tenerife from 10-12 October.
The Spanish event agency Eventisimo managed to break a Guinness World Record in the corporate category at an event it organized for the Swedish cosmetics multinational Oriflame. The multinational’s Global Summit, which was attended by all its sales directors from around the world, was hosted by the Resort Abama Golf & Spa, on the Island of Tenerife (Spain).
The brand wanted to create a wow factor that would make for a truly memorable occasion. So, representatives of the Guinness World Records were called in to certify the world record in the corporate category, entitled "longest unbroken line of people linking arms and looking in the opposite direction, while toasting all at once." The people taking part were the event’s participants, who, forming the brand’s logo, were all dressed in T-shirts sporting Oriflame’s corporate colours.
The difficulty lay in creating the full logo – a capital O – with an unbroken line of people. Hence, a large number of Eventisimo’s staff was needed to coordinate and place the 260 people, with the aim of breaking the existing record.
It was undoubtedly an original way to celebrate the excellent results of the global summit and represent the cohesion of all the multinational’s sales staff, distributed over five continents.
