In a bid to offer its users an optimum experience, the Spanish and Moroccan meeting and event portal has carried out a long list of improvements during 2012.

Aware that today’s hyper-interactive users demand an optimum experience when navigating the Web in search of information, the portal has been gradually adapted to their needs, while always implementing the industry’s best practices. As a result, Event Planner Spain has yet again broken records as regards page views (1.4 million last December). As in 2011, the chief improvements in 2012 are listed below:

SEO and Web Compatibility:

  • On-going search engine optimization (SEO) updates so as to maintain and improve the organic rankings of both portal content and member profiles in Google and other major search engines in the portal’s eight languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese, and Dutch).
  • Improving website compatibility with the most popular browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Chrome, etc).
  • As a result of the constant increase in web content, tags have been included at the end of new items, thus allowing users to search for related news and suppliers and to navigate more easily through the most relevant web content. Furthermore, it is now possible to order new items by popularity (based on the number of views).

Usability:

  • Redesigning the portal’s home page so as to include richer and more dynamic content.
  • In addition to disseminating portal and member content (news items, videos, and special offers) via RSS, it is now also posted automatically on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the portal’s mobile website.
  • In addition to the option of searching the portal’s supplier directory by name, category or type of event, a map has also been included in the directory’s different categories, thus offering users another search option.
  • Adapting the code of Event Planner Spain’s monthly newsletter to satisfy the requirements of the main email platforms.
  • Portal members can now post direct logo-links to their profiles in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, and Pinterest in their profiles, thus broadening the number of direct communication channels between them and their potential clients.
  • Monthly update of the portal’s main statistics.
  • On-going improvements to the portal’s mobile website: news, special offers, featured banner (with statistics), photos that adjust automatically to the screen of the user’s mobile device, etc.
  • Updating the "Event organization" section in both the desktop and mobile versions of the portal.
  • The possibility of posting press releases and news items in the portal’s eight languages (free for members).

Agreements:

  • Event Planner Spain has become the first Spanish carbon neutral meeting and event industry website.
  • In addition to existing collaboration agreements with Corbin Ball, Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Hospitality eBusiness Strategies, and other experts, in 2012 Naijapreneur has begun to collaborate with Event Planner Spain on a frequent basis.
  • Event Planner Spain is media partner of IMEX Frankfurt (22-24 May 2012) and EIBTM Barcelona (27-29 November 2012), as well as participating as an exhibitor in both shows, regarded as the most important in the world in the meeting and event industry. li>
  • With the aim of generating additional traffic and business leads for its members, in 2012 Event Planner Spain has conducted a number of email and direct marketing campaigns, attended shows and professional meetings, and forged alliances with similar media abroad, in addition to its SEO and SEM efforts.

In 2013, Event Planner Spain will continue to innovate not only to provide its clients with a quality service, but also to forge new alliances within the global meeting and event industry so as to ensure the quality and relevance of its content.

The team at Event Planner Spain wishes all its members and users the very best in 2013!
