Event Planner Spain, now Spain’s most visited portal for event planning in Spain and Morocco, with over 250,000 monthly visits and 750 quality suppliers, has launched a number of new features in 2011, as well as continuously improving the site’s user-friendliness and SEO.
Over the last 12 months, eventplannerspain.com has continued to evolve with the aim of improving the user experience of those wishing to find venues, agencies or suppliers for their meetings in Spain and Morocco, or the latest industry news and information, while offering the suppliers that are members a greater number of promotional and business opportunities.
The first initiative was implemented in July with the launching of Eventilo.com, an online event organization and registration tool developed by the Dutch technology firm aanmelder.com and adapted by eventplannerspain.com to Spanish-speaking markets. This fully automated tool – also available in Dutch and English – features a wide range of functionalities which save users between 10-12 hours of work for each 100 participants. Free for events with less than 50 attendees, eventplannerspain.com is currently offering 10 free Business Packs and important discounts on the two pay versions – Business and Business Plus.
One of eventplannerspain.com’s primary differentiating factors has always been its international scope. Since being launched in October 2006, the number of available languages has steadily increased. The original English and Spanish versions were soon complemented by those in French, Russian and German. Now the site is also available in Dutch, Portuguese and Chinese, bringing the total to eight, including five of the world’s most widely spoken languages.
Perhaps one of the most important but less visible improvements has been the portal’s ongoing SEO strategy resulting in still higher search engine rankings for the 145,000 pages currently indexed, optimized for over 1,000 key industry words, as well as individual positioning for the supplier member profiles in eight languages, offering them greater exposure and direct lead generation in interesting new markets such as China and Brazil. Other initiatives implemented during 2011 include a new function for enlarging member profile photos, a new search by office location feature, the possibility of posting comments on news items, and further agreements with expert contributors. Joining One+ (Meeting Professionals International’s magazine), Corbin Ball, Max Starkov et al. of HeBS and Rob Hard of BusinessTravelDestination.com, the branding, marketing and social media expert Lara McCulloch-Carter now makes regular blog contributions to eventplannerspain.com’s news and events section and newsletter, distributed monthly to over 14,000 trade professionals in Spain and abroad.
In the coming year, eventplannerspain.com will continue in the same line, constantly improving its website and direct request for proposal system so as to offer users the very best of experiences and services and its members the broadest range of business opportunities possible. Initiatives will include a new video marketing section, in collaboration with video production companies belonging to the portal, providing a quality video production service – for hotels, tourist boards, companies, events, weddings, etc. – at very competitive prices.
