Event Planner Spain Continued to Improve and Update Services in 2013

Since being launched in 2006, the Spanish and Moroccan meeting and event resource has consistently strived to offer users and members alike the best possible service and experience.



The most important landmark reached in 2013 is the PageRank 5 (PR5) obtained by the portal’s Spanish homepage, something that is achieved by very few sites owing to the gradually more stringent requirements of Google’s continuous algorithm updates. It is also a true reflection of the untiring efforts of Event Planner Spain’s team to implement search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.



Furthermore, despite the enduring economic uncertainty in 2013 the portal continued to register exponential growth in terms of page views (3,000,000+ per month) and new item views (700,000+ in December 2013), pulverizing previous records.



Improvements made in 2013 feature the following:



Security:

  • The portal has been using Cloudflare since the beginning of 2013. In addition to giving the portal extra protection against cyber-attacks, the service also accelerates loading times by caching all available pages.



New content:

  • The English and Spanish versions of the portal’s glossary have just been launched. With over 750 terms in each language, the idea is to continue extending both versions.
  • A new section ("About Us") has been created, containing press releases about Event Planner Spain, posted by the portal and other media companies.
  • The "Interesting Reading" section has been updated and a number of new sections have been included: one containing the latest news about the ICCA Iberian Chapter, as well as another three sections covering meeting and event technology, online travel, the hospitality industry, and Internet marketing, and MICE industry good practices.



New pricing strategy:

  • Event Planner Spain has implemented a new pricing strategy, featuring a 50% discount on 1st year membership rates, flexible pricing for banner advertising, whose rates are now adjusted on a monthly basis according to the number of page views each section or supplier category receives, and very competitive rates for hotels and venues.
  • Furthermore, in addition to the existing Standard and Premium listings, a new "Platinum" listing is now available. With its own "Featured Destinations" section, it is especially designed for hotel chains, associations, destinations and convention bureaux.



Functionalities:

  • The portal’s social media integration has been improved, as well as offering members the possibility including a Google+ logo-link in their listings.
  • The Google Map code has been optimized.
  • Users can now send requests for proposals to multiple members.



Media partners:

  • In addition to being media partners of IMEX Frankfurt, EIBTM, MITM Euromed, MICE Asia Expo, and Europe Congress, last year Event Planner Spain signed collaboration agreements with the ICCA Iberian Chapter and The Meetings Show UK.
