Emperador Hotel Obtains TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

TripAdvisor, the largest travel web in the world, has recently been awarded a number of hotels, restaurants and attractions achieving outstanding traveller reviews its Certificate of Excellence.



Only approximately 10% of the hospitality establishments featuring on TripAdvisor’s website are awarded this accolade.



So as to obtain TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence establishments must obtain a general score of 4 out of 5, according to the opinions of the website’s users. Another criterion is the number of traveller reviews received in the last 12 months.



In the specific case of Spain, TripAdvisor has awarded 7,886 establishments with this certificate, of which 3,345 are hotels and 642 are located in Madrid.



The Emperador Madrid is one of the properties that have obtained this prestigious award, based on its guests’ perception of its endeavours, facilities and service.



The company itself has stated that, although the hotel is a classic sexagenarian in the history of Madrid’s Gran Via, the establishment’s management team and staff constantly strive to offer renovated facilities – such as the recent work carried out on the hotel’s façade and the refurbishment of its rooms and communal areas – and a meticulous service.



About the Emperador Hotel

Built in 1946 and renovated for the last time in 2013, this 4-star property is Located in Gran Via, one of Madrid’s main streets. Housed in a part of the Lope de Vega building, designed by architects Julian and Joaquin Otamendi, the latter also being responsible for the Post Office Building and the Plaza Cibeles, among others, the most recent renovation work carried out on the property includes its façade and lighting, which are a very popular fixture with the passers-by in this central street.



Thanks to its location, clientele and architectural style, the Emperador Hotel is regarded as one of the capital’s flagship properties. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons why it was chosen for hosting the closing ceremony of the celebrations held to mark the centenary of Gran Via.



The hotel has 232 guest rooms, two suites and 12 fully equipped meeting rooms suitable for hosting any type of corporate or private event. The property also features a spectacular roof garden, complete with swimming pool, open in the summer months, which is free for guests; as well a lobby bar open all year round.
