EMITT – Turkey’s Largest and Best Known Travel Exhibition

The 15th edition of EMITT, Turkey’s most important travel exhibition, will be held at the Tuyap Exhibition Centre, Istanbul, from 10-13 February 2011.



Now running into its 15 year, the 2011 edition of EMITT will cover 44,800sqm distributed in 10 pavilions, where 3,000 exhibitors representing 60 national international destinations will be showcasing their product and services. Attracting in the region of 42,500 trade professionals this year, the organizers hope to break the 50,000 barrier in 2011.



In addition to over 150 Turkish destinations, Azerbaijan, Egypt Air, Ecuador, Japan, Lebanon, Tanzania, Thailand and Yemen are all repeating next year with larger stands, while there will be a fair number of companies representing the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain, among other countries.



The growth of outbound tourism in Turkey is way outstripping other sectors of the economy. From 1970- 2005, the real GDP grew by 4.06%, while outbound tourism was up by an impressive 9.38%. The most dynamic segments are currently winter and luxury travel, city breaks, adventures holidays, educational tourism and business travel.
