Eikonos was commissioned to provide AV equipment and technical support for many of the activities that were organized over the weekend in Barcelona.
After 25 years, the King’s Basketball Cup returned to Barcelona. The Palau Sant Jordi was the venue chosen for the tournament, the "Mini Cup" and 30,000sqm different activities which were also held in other parts of the city as well.
On the one hand, for the four-day event Eikonos installed four Christie LX-15000 15K projectors in the Club Sant Jordi, inside the Palau Sant Jordi, for screening different videos on giant screens in the chillout areas and bar set aside for VIP guests, including sports personalities and politicians.
On the other hand, the company installed a Triax unit comprising two cameras that captured spontaneous kisses given by couples in the audience, which were then broadcasted on the basketball court’s giant screen. This action was sponsored by Agua Bezoya, and was baptised as "The Bezoya Kiss."
Another area worth mentioning was the Arch of Triumph, where the ACB King’s Cup activities were carried out. There were sports activities for all ages, basketball courts for tournaments, and an area where the general public could play virtual basketball with the Gasol brothers. It was here in the virtual basketball court where Eikonos demonstrated its technological savoir faire.
