From Derelict Building to Luxury Hotel with Views of Portals

The inhabitants of this stretch of Costa d’en Blanes, who did not "know what was going on," did indeed know that something was up on the evening of 26June at the facilities of Port Portals, an old, derelict hotel.

Trees with rose coloured lights simulating almond blossom, an exceptional décor and summer cocktails were just some of the ingredients at the official launching of the OD Port Portals; a new hotel concept that has brought this derelict building, perched on the hill dominating this beautiful area of Calvia, back to life.

Geared to the luxury tourism sector, this new hotel is backed by the experience of the brand Design Hotels. It is worth mentioning that the site was expressly chosen by the group and, in the words of its spokesman, "there was no other possible or better location" for its Mallorcan adventure than the exclusive Portals marina.

In close vicinity to Portals Nous, the OD Port Portals affords splendid views of the marina. This new addition to the hotel group’s portfolio characterizes the contemporary vision of luxury hospitality of OD Hotels.

This new project highlights the group’s commitment to recuperating public spaces, functional design and landscape integration. The furniture of OD Port Portals’ rooms is scalable, the shower occupies part of the old terrace, and the communal areas, from the lobby bar to the convention hall, through the restaurant, avoid predetermined uses.

Designed by the studio Rahola Vidal & Mayte Matutes, Port Portals Mallorca is a hotel for sleeping, working, receiving friends, or as a base for sailing, 365 days of the year. A member of Design Hotels, OD Port Portals Mallorca is, like its big brother Ocean Drive Ibiza, all that a traveller can desire from a stay on the always evocative island of Mallorca.
