The Monte Conquero Hotel in Huelva has organised the 1st Week of Tauromachy Cuisine, staring next Monday 28, consisting of dishes whose main ingredient is fighting bull meat.
Organised by the Monte Conquero Hotel, the 1st Week of Tauromachy Cuisine will be held from 28 July-3 August, during which the hotel’s restaurant will be serving a menu consisting of dishes prepared with fighting bull meat.
The menu will include nine dishes whose names evoke the art of bullfighting, such as Tercio de Varas (fighting bull meatballs with dry fruit and cardamom purée), Spanish bandarillas (brochettes of fighting bull rissoles with peppers on a bed of crisp leeks), and Medias Verónicas al quite de Ibérico (peppers stuffed with fighting bull stew, with gravy and flakes of cured ham).
According to Angel Martin, the hotel’s director, the aim is to “contribute to the Colombinas by bringing those clients who lunch at the hotel nearer to the bullfighting phenomenon, and offering the bullfighters and their teams who have stayed at the hotel for many years during the fair the chance to savour dishes closely related to their profession.”
Martin goes on to add that “the slogan we have chosen to promote the culinary week represents its spirit: “Another Way to Savour the Festival”. Because we believe that tauromachy should involve all the senses. And, this year, the cuisine of Monte Conquero, Huelva’s bullfighting hotel, will be offering the city and the bullfighting world a ‘taste’ of the festival.”
