The scooter rental company Cooltra has implemented an innovative and ambitious initiative with the incorporation of 1,000 electric scooters in its fleet, under the brand name eCooltra.

Cooltra has just introduced a new monthly electric scooter rental service – the largest sustainable two-wheel mobility project to have been implemented to date in Europe – thus converting Barcelona into the electric vehicle capital.

eCooltra provides a novel environmentally-friendly sustainable mobility solution at an exceptional price. With the company’s eRenting service, clients can now rent a GOVECS electric scooter on a monthly basis, including roadside assistance, third-party and driver insurance, maintenance, and a crash helmet, for only €149 a month.

The company’s eRenting service offers many advantages, such as instant availability without having to waste time taking out an insurance policy or paying for costly MOTs. In addition, with eRenting there are no minimum contract terms. In short, eCooltra provides an environmentally-friendly scooter rental alternative at the unbeatable price of only €4.90 per day.

The city of Barcelona currently has over 200 charge points meaning that the scooters can be recharged at any time of the day in a handy and simple fashion. In addition, all of Barcelona City Council’s charge points are free.

The scooters are manufactured by the German firm GOVECS, which has a long track record in the development, production and distribution of electric vehicles on a global scale. In 2011, the Go! 3.4 model was acknowledged as the best electric scooter on the market at the eCarTec Awards.

The GOVECS Go! 3.4 has the same specifications as a traditional 125cc scooter, with a top speed of 85km/h and a range of 80km with a three-hour charge. The scooters can be test-driven free at Cooltra’s showroom in Carrer de Lepant, 200, Barcelona.
