Claris Hotel terrace an elegant alternative venue for Christmas celebrations
On Christmas Day, there is a choice between dining in the Claris' terrace or, for group booking, at East Garden or East 47 – the property's private dining room and restaurant, respectively. The menu being the same at both venues: a glass of rosé champagne, smoked salmon, oysters and marinated prawns to begin with, followed by Christmas broth with galets, foie gras and carn d'olla; angler with sweet potato and horn of plenty, or truffled pullet with potato and chestnut ragout as the main course; and pineapple with yoghurt and a very innovative version of Spanish Christmas roll, finishing with Christmas sweetmeats and petits fours, for dessert.
New Year's Eve at a restaurant-museum surrounded by Egyptian artifacts
One must not forget that the Claris Hotel houses over 400 Egyptian artifacts, distributed throughout the property. The hotel's New Year's Eve dinner programme is an excellent opportunity to discover them. On 31 December, the party will get under way at 8.30pm with a glass of Pommery Rosée on the Claris' terrace. Surrounded by works of art, dinner will be served in the property's function room-cum-museum and at the East 47 restaurant. Afterwards, there will be music and drinks on the terrace until 2am.
The tasting menu to be served at Claris Hotel's New Year's Eve gala dinner features shellfish, truffles and champagne: wild mushroom and truffle sandwich, foie gras and pear pastille, scallop brochettes, poached eggs with white truffle cream and apple and prawn salad to start with, followed by a choice between sea bass with young vegetables and herb cream or suckling pig with quince and citric fruit sauce, and a red berry cup and rum baba with vanilla cream and ice cream, without forgetting the 12 lucky grapes and Christmas sweetmeats, as dessert.
Corporate dinners
The Claris Hotel's function rooms, East 47 and the East Garden are all available for corporate dinners. These venues, which offer a number of different menus, are an elegant and intimate choice for celebrating Christmas. In addition, for each booking, the Claris Hotel will be giving away a free night or dinner for two at any one of Derby Hotels Collection's luxury hotels in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris or London*.
