On 15 September 2013, the organizations Associação Civilização Ativa and Fundación Lapa do Lobo held a seminar in Nelas (Portugal) on how car museums help to promote inland tourism.

The 2nd edition of the "Activa" conference cycle featured the presence of Luis Celinio, president of the Clube EscapeLivre, as moderator, Fernando Taborda of the Gouveia Miniature Car Museum, Luis Miguel Mata, director of the Automotive History Museum of Salamanca, Tiago Patricio Gouveia, director of the Museum of Caramulo, and Carlos Cunha Torres, president of the Lapa do Lobo Foundation as keynote speakers.

The public has the chance to participate in a discussion addressing the importance of museums and institutions, like for instance the Lapa do Lobo Foundation, in the development of inland tourism destinations. These revitalizing activities have a decisive impact on economic growth and the promotion of inland tourism.

After the conference, the exhibition "Mundo Automóvel, uma estrada para o futuro" was presented, in which all of the participating museum directors talked about some of the exhibits to be found in their museums. During the event, Activa Civilization – the organizer of the event – presented the design, entitled "1948", by Carlos Pina, Filipa Pais, and Patricia Bras, art, design and multimedia students at the Viseu Polytechnic. Based on a photo by Luis Miguel Costa, the students’ project is inspired by the Pop Art of the 1950s.

Backed by the Nelas Local Authorities, the Junta of Freguesia da Lapa do Lobo, the Lapa do Lobo Foundation, the Museum of Caramulo, the Automotive History Museum of Salamanca,

Club Escape Livre, Bridgestone, Mestre Design, JC Automóveis, the exhibition will be open to the public until 9 November.
