Canaries Congress Centre to Host Birth Control Congress

Hundreds of professionals will attend the biennial event, hosted by the Canaries Congress Centre, to address the issue: "Birth Control and Health: New Times."



In March, the Canaries Congress Centre will host the 11th National Congress of the Spanish Society of Contraception, a high-level scientific congress addressing burning current issues for all those professionals working in the fields of birth control, and sexual and reproductive health.



The congress, scheduled to be held from 28-30 March, will focus on issues such as the bioethics of birth control. Hundreds of the professionals (doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, etc.) will participate in the biennial event, which this year will address the issue: "Birth Control and Health: New Times."



During the three-day congress, the participants will discuss burning medical and social issues related to birth control. Sessions will start with a study of hormonal birth control and the human papillomavirus, as well as including a direct reference to the latest projects conducted the Spanish Society of Contraception (SEC), the prevention of domestic abuse seen through the prism of contraception, and the current situation after the passing of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Act.



Discussions, enriched by valuable keynote addresses, will also revolve around the analysis of the bioethics of birth control and its use in special situations. Other issues on the agenda include "hormones and health," "fertility and birth control," long-term birth control" and "new ideas in the field of birth control."
