The Leeds-based agency has been awarded a multimillion pound contract for providing the central government with meeting and event booking services.
Coming shortly after scooping up the SUPC (Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium) sole supplier contract for meetings and events, Calder Conferences, which currently works with the Ministry of Justice, has just won a multimillion pound contract for providing the central government with meeting and event services. With an expected increase in turnover of £22m for the Yorkshire-based agency, its venue finding service will be powered by venuedirectory.com technology.
The move comes after the previous setup, which used five different agencies, proved to be too costly; hence, hence over the next two years, Calder Conferences will be expected to improve cost effectiveness, something the agency believes it will be able to achieve this through the use of venuedirectory.com’s Gratis solution, a system connected to 27,000 venues nationwide.
The first government department to move over to Calder Conferences will be the Home Office at the beginning of August, with the remainder expected to follow by April 2013.
