The Provisional Government of Cadiz’s tourist board continues to harness new technologies so as to reach potential visitors and showcase the province’s attractions.

The province of Cadiz’s tourist industry now has its own fan page on Facebook www.facebook.com/Cadizturismo, where users of this social network can consult the new features and proposals offered by the province around the clock. Likewise, they can exchange opinions, ask for recommendations on what to see and when, browse photos and videos of the province and, generally speaking, make the most of all the options provided by this extensive social network.

According to Facebakers, Facebook has more than 10 million users in Spain and 147 million in Europe, the majority of which are aged from 18-44.

To date, the tourist board’s page has 529 fans, 73% of whom, it is important to mention, are aged from 25-44. As is to be expected, most of the fans are Spanish, followed by English, Mexicans and Germans. Madrid is the city from where most of the fans log in, followed by Valencia, Barcelona and Seville.

The Horse Fair of Jerez and the city’s Motor GP fixture were the first events to be announced by the tourist board on Facebook; a social network that permits the inclusion of links to other webpages and related photos, thus allowing users to search for further information.

The tourist board’s fan page follows close on the heels of its YouTube profile, where visitors can view videos of attractions and tourist service providers based in the province of Cadiz. The profile can be accessed from the home page of cadizturismo.com or directly via www.youtube.com/patprovturcadiz. Since being created, the 120 videos that have been uploaded to date have been viewed over 42,000 times.
