Cadiz to host 14th Spanish Music Festival in November with over 60 performances

From 11-27 November, music will fill the city’s squares, streets, and venues with the 14th Spanish Music Festival.

The 14th Spanish Music Festival of Cadiz will get underway outdoors with Música a los cuatro vientos, in San Juan de Dios Square. The opening concert, at the city’s convention centre, will be performed by the award-winning early music ensemble Al Ayre, which has recently received the National Music Prize. Conducted by Eduardo Lopez Banzo, the ensemble will perform pieces by Juan Manuel de la Puente, one of Spain’s greatest Baroque composers, and works of his European counterparts, such as Antonio Vivaldi and George Handel.

The city will resound to the music of 60 concerts, which will also be performed in other localities on the bay, such as El Puerto de Santa María, San Fernando, and Conil de la Frontera. Under the slogan “Femenino Plural”, the festival’s main venue will be the Gran Teatro Falla.
