The Burgos Convention Bureau, Forum Evolucion and Burgos City Council organized a fam trip, which took place from 27-29 September 2013, with the aim of showcasing the city’s MICE offering to a group of national sales managers working for the department of scientific-medical congresses of Viajes El Corte Ingles, one of Spain’s top meeting and event industry players.
The fam trip is the first of a series of initiatives implemented by the Burgos Convention Bureau and Forum Evolucion Burgos geared to promoting the city in the MICE market.
The fam trip’s full programme included the city’s quality hotels, the Forum Evolucion Congress Centre and its multifunctional congress facilities, emblematic attractions such as the Museum of Human Evolution, and, as the current Spanish culinary capital, a special gastronomic tour of the city, including lunches and dinners at a number of event venues, and a cooking class courtesy of the famous chef Antonio Arrabal.
The group of sales managers was pleasantly surprised by what they saw in Burgos, praising the city’s endless possibilities with an eye to becoming a top business tourism destination.
The Burgos Convention Bureau and Forum Evolucion Burgos were ably assisted by a number of companies related to the city’s MICE industry.
