With this new edition of its now classic Joly Forum, held at the Gran Sevilla Convention Centre of the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel, the Joly Group has aimed to stimulate social debate.
On 16 January, the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento Hotel, located on the bank of the River Guadalquivir and totally refurbished in 2012, hosted a new edition of the Joly Forum-Andalusia, organized by the prestigious Joly Group, the leading publishing group in Andalusia which includes newspapers such as Diario de Sevilla, Europa Sur, El Día de Córdoba, Málaga Hoy, etc. The Joly Forum-Andalusia is an initiative promoted by the ex-Minister of Public Works, Magdalena Alvarez in 2004 with the aim of stimulating social debate and contributing to finding solutions to issues of the greatest concern to Andalusian citizens.
This edition of the Joly forum, which yet again has been hosted by the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento, featured the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Miguel Arias Cañete. The Mayor of Seville, Ignacio Zoido, introduced Arias Cañete, who gave a talk on the agro-food industry during which he stated that "in the future, Spain will be a global leader in the agro-food industry because the country can and knows how to achieve this."
After Arias Cañete’s speech, the 385 attendees were treated to a lunch-colloquium at the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento’s Gran Sevilla Convention Centre, for which 39 tables were set up in the 1,042sqm function room. The attendees were previously received at a hospitality desk in the foyer, and enjoyed one of the restaurant’s menus, composed of hot and cold dishes prepared with seasonal produce.
The Joly Forum was a resounding success thanks to the Joly Group’s staff and the savoir faire of the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento when organizing any event, as is evidenced by its membership of the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA) and certification as an environmentally and sustainable venue.
